For common AC slow charging piles, if the power is 3.5kW, the corresponding current is about 16A, and 3×4mm² cables are generally selected. When the power is increased to 7kW, the current is about 32A. At this time, it is recommended to use 3×6mm² cables. This is because as the power increases, the current load increases, and thicker cables can reduce resistance, reduce power loss and heat generation.
DC fast charging piles have higher power and more stringent requirements on cable specifications. A DC pile with a power of 30kW and a current of about 46A requires a 10mm² cable; a DC pile with a power of 60kW and a current of 92A requires a 25mm² cable; and a DC pile with a current of 90kW and a current of 120A, the cable specification should be 35mm².
In addition, the supply voltage also affects the cable selection. If it is a 220V single-phase power supply, the cable specifications are usually larger than those of a 380V three-phase power supply. In actual applications, the cable laying distance must also be considered.
